ASCOT Radar Simulator® successfully interfaces with NORAD Contingency Suite (NCS) and Battlefield Control Suite-Fixed (BCS-F)

PLEXSYS Interface Products Inc.® showcased their latest interface capabilities using the ASCOT Radar Simulator® at Tyndall AFB, FL during the integration and conduct of the Amalgam Arrow 07-06 exercise. Multiple capabilities were demonstrated such as sending CD-2 Radar and IFF data to the BCS ProCon box, along with LINK-16 data to the Northrop Grumman Gateway.

Camas, WA - April 10th 2007 - (PRNN®) - In February 2007, PLEXSYS Interface Products Inc.® began initial integration testing between the ASCOT Radar Simulator®, the NORAD Contingency Suite (NCS) and Battlefield Control Suite-Fixed (BCS-F). The ASCOT was able to send both CD-2 data for a single radar and DIS LINK-16 data (2.2, 13.2 and 3.2 messages) onto BCS workstation displays. While the number of messages viewable by the BCS workstation was limited, they will be further developed upon the arrival of the next spiral of BCS-F development.

In addition, the ASCOT Radar Simulator® was able to successfully send LINK-16 messages to the Multi Sensor Correlator Tracker (MSCT) for display on the NCS/Tactical Display Frame (TDF).

In March 2007, a single ASCOT successfully modeled 20 ground radars and sent CD-2 data using radar location and search volume to report entity location and IFF. The emulation of virtually unlimited ground radars from a single ASCOT is significant in that an entire theatre of operation, or even the operational airspace throughout the US can be replicated with just one ASCOT. This data can also be fed onto multiple networks, limited only by the number of Network Interface Cards (NICs) in the computer. The entity location and IFF can be derived from local ASCOT entities, from Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) entities, and from High Level Architecture (HLA) entities.
