Products > AWACS MTC
PLEXSYS supplies the DMO (Distributed Mission Operations) AWACS MTC (Mission Training Center) to the US Air Force. Systems are located at Tinker, Kirtland, Elmendorf, and Kadena AFBs.
An AWACS MTC is comprised of the following:
 - Tailor-made Console Emulators - Instructor Operator Stations - Briefing/Debriefing Suite, including large-scale plasma displays and electronic whiteboards - Network Management - Security Management - Scenario Design and Creation Tools
The AWACS MTC is much more versatile than just an emulation of the E-3C mission crew consoles. It is a Command and Control System with an integrated simulation capability.
Instructor Operator Stations (IOSs) provide the means to create the entire synthetic battlespace.

Brief/Debrief rooms give crews the opportunity to review their mission - all console actions and radios/voice nets are recorded for playback. Mission planning can also be conducted with other DMO sites prior to mission start.
The software and UDP (User Data Protocol) networking allows operators to interact with each Console and IOS as necessary - from injecting malfunctions, to enabling data-links, monitoring consoles, recording switch actions, and sub-networking for small team, full crew, live aircraft control, or distributed training.
A complete Command and Control system - operators control live aircraft with it. Although our AWACS MTC emulates the current technology on-board the E-3C, the software behind it is open architecture, 21st Century technology. The hardware appearance and GUI can be changed to match that of any other Command and Control system.
