The PLEXComm^® Communications software emulates all types of radios against a wide range of variables that impact the capability of the radio. This product is available as an integral component of the ASCOT, or can be operated separately as a stand-alone communications program. 

For interoperability with other communication platforms, the user can access radio network setup parameters such as sample rate, radio or net encoding schemes, port and broadcast addresses, and radio location (center of earth versus entity location).

Several different radios can be emulated, including Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Very
High Frequency (VHF), High Frequency (HF), and Wideband Secure Voice (WBSV).

Beyond the emulation of radios, we also implement voice nets for a number of purposes. Voice nets aboard the E-3 are replicated in our AWACS MTC, as well as AWACS maintenance nets and internal dial-up comms among consoles. Sim pilots also have IOS-to-IOS discreet nets for exercise coordination behind the scenes.
